Lots happening lately! Book 5, Core of Stone, came back from editing, and I’m happy to report that my editor didn’t have any major issues with it. A few things that need to be fixed and a fair bit of word-nerking (as always), but for the most part everything came back fine. I’ve made all the changes and now I’m doing a final proofing pass.

Got the first cut at the cover back last week, and it’s gorgeous. It’s not done yet (for one thing, Stone doesn’t have a head!) but I love it. It captures the mood of the book perfectly.

Also last week, I had the pleasure of doing an author talk at Bookbuyers in Mountain View. I love that place – it’s a huge used book store, and they’re very supportive of indie authors. I was a bit terrified, since I’d never done anything like this before, but I think it went pretty well, all things considered. Even sold a few books.

Right now, I’m getting things together for the three conventions I’ll be attending as a seller coming up. This is a totally new thing for me too, and I have no idea how it will go, but I’m looking forward to it. I’m gathering various bits and pieces to make my booth look cool, and I’ve got a bunch of boxes of books out in the shed ready to go. I’ll post another entry about cons in particular a little later, but yeah, it should be fun!
